The Recovery Story of Dr. Abdel Baset, a 46-year-old Doctor from Jordan
In March 2024, Dr. Baset began his recovery journey at Walk Again Advanced Neuro-Robotic Rehab in New Delhi. He was diagnosed with a challenging condition known as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) at the C6-C7 level. This condition can partially cause weakness or paralysis in the arms.
We analysed his condition properly and created a personalized rehab program that included:
In the beginning, he struggled to even just go through the daily motions. His arms shook and he struggled to grip with his hand.
But after receiving the treatment, he noticed some improvement in movement of his elbow. Now with strength in hand muscles he can do tasks by his own and improved in sitting.
Abdel’s story is a testament of determination and creativity, turning adversity into achievement.

In March 2024, Siddiqui started his rehab at Walk Again Advanced Neuro-Robotic Rehab in New Delhi. An RT MCA infarction was diagnosed.
This syndrome affects the right middle cerebral artery (the major blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to critical parts of the brain). It damages the brain and causes weakness or paralysis on the left half of the body.
Once we correctly diagnosed this condition, we developed a customized rehab program that included:
At first he had challenges with basic skills and coordination. His wrist, which he had been struggling to waggle, was paralyzed. He had speech difficulty, trouble balancing and taking one step while standing on the other foot, unable to balance on a single leg, or synchronize his left hand and leg.
But now, after the therapy, he can flex his left wrist up and down on his own, balance and stand on one leg, and seamlessly coordinate his left hand with a majority of voluntary movement.
He is managing simple tasks on his own, and while he has regained much of his speech and cognitive function.
Siddiqui’s improvement in speech and brain function illustrates the enormous potential of specialized rehabilitation.

In February 2023, Mehak began her recovery journey at Walk Again Advanced Neuro-Robotic Rehab in New Delhi. She had Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder in which the immune system attacks the body’s peripheral nerves (which send messages between the brain and spinal cord to and from the rest of the body), muscle weakness and, in some cases paralysis.
After the proper diagnosis, her personalized rehab program included:
She had marked leg weakness before the treatment with difficulty in standing and walking without support. She had flaccid core muscles, needed help to sit up from the lying down position, and difficulty standing up from sitting.
She recovered the ability to sit from lying without any assistance and that of standing up, and walking alone without any help, after the program. She was very satisfied with regaining her core strength, with more than 70 cycles.
Mehak's story shows how specialised rehabilitation can help people regain their strength and ability to do things on their own.

Bavon, a 54- year-old man who was diagnosed with transverse myelitis began his road to recovery at Walk Again Advanced Neuro-Robotic Rehab in New Delhi in November 2023.
With transverse myelitis, a rare neurological condition that causes inflammation in the spinal cord and causes pain, weakness, problems with the bladder, and loss of some muscle function. This may later lead to paralysis.
After properly analyzing his condition, we created a personalized rehab program which included:
He was having trouble doing simple things and also with the balance before the lesson.
However, after the program, he regained the required muscle strength to walk steadily and ability to stand on his own without any support.
Bavon's story of regaining muscle strength is a powerful lesson that even if you have transverse myelitis, you can get your body back to working normally with the right help and modern rehabilitation tools.
